About Pamela
Pamela Salaam is a lifelong Wilmington resident, community advocate, and Democratic candidate for State Representative of the 16th District. Raised in the Southbridge community, Pamela’s commitment to service is rooted in lived experience, strong family values, and a deep belief that real change starts close to home.
Her work has always centered on people, supporting families, addressing environmental concerns, and advocating for safer, healthier neighborhoods. Pamela doesn’t lead from a distance. She listens, shows up, and works alongside the community to move things forward.

From her early career at Christiana Care Health Systems to over a decade working in substance abuse recovery, Pamela has dedicated her life to helping others. In 2019, she founded Positive Thinking Positive Change, Inc., expanding her grassroots work feeding families and supporting those in need. She later served as President of the Southbridge Civic Association, continuing her advocacy at the neighborhood level.
Pamela’s leadership is grounded in honesty, responsibility, and trust, and her mission is simple: put people first and fight for a 16th District where families can thrive.
